Featured Live Music Artist of the Week : AXE MAN'S BRIDGE

Axe Man's Bridge - now if that name doesn't give you a clue to the musical style of the band, I don't know what will. This 5 piece from Chicagoland presents an intense and unique brand of hard rock/metal, and their style is often referred to by others as "alternative metal". The axe wielders create a very unique sound combining the melodic elements of hard rock with in-your-face thrash metal power coupled with awesome lyrics. Though they can certainly cover some of the greatest metal/hard rock hits - their focus is on all original music. And their music is available nearly everywhere online (see links at end of article). Rumor has it that an album is even in the works.

But what is even more impressive about this band, is their live performances! Talk about energy - not just the standard metal guys playing 600 notes/minute and yelling at volume 11 (because it goes to 11). They have a way of engaging the audience, each band member having their own unique stage presence, which manages to draw the crowd in - and towards the stage! I have seen them play at various venues from full-on concert venues (Another Hole In The Wall, MoJo's) to neighborhood bars (Jason's Pub) to outdoor music festivals (Steger Days Of Music 2013 and 2014). In each case, they bring the crowd to life, no matter which musical genre band was on stage before them, no matter how big or small the room - and they captivate the audience - completely captivate them. If the previous band (at a festival) was an adult contemporary band, those fans become engrossed in the Axe Man's Bridge experience, and do not leave their seats - except maybe to applaud!

They would be labeled a "metal band" or a "hard rock band" if we must put labels on things, however, this band appeals to anybody who truly enjoys ROCK MUSIC, labels-be-damned.

The Axe Heads, an energetic and loyal fanbase, not only attend the shows and add to the excitement, but they also send in selfies to an Axe Man's Bridge webpage dedicated solely to their fans! (something very cool, in my opinion). Axe Man's Bridge also travels with a merch table that is second to none in original offerings - handmade unique shirts (each one is different), plastic AMB axes, Axe Head masks, bumper stickers, and other items, all designed by Chicagoland artist, Living Dead Girl Nicole.

Their live shows will energize you and maybe even exhaust you!

Oh, and another really cool sidebar - their name is derived from a quite (in)famous urban legend about Axe Man's Bridge located in the Chicago Southland. A goal of Cabin 7 Promotions is to someday arrange a special live performance of Axe Man's Bridge ON Axe Man's Bridge (preferably on Halloween or a Friday The 13th)!!!
