Featured Live Music Artist of the Week - "An Acoustic Evening at Amici's"

Doing things differently - our feature this week is about a FUTURE event - An Acoustic Evening at Amici's - Friday, March 20.  3501 Union, Steger, IL

This event will feature three live musical artists, spanning a variety of musical stylings.

8:00 - 9:00 The Big Boppers.  They've been a featured artist before.  An amazing guitar duo playing acoustic 6-string and acoustic bass (yes, acoustic bass).  The bass is played with a unique strumming style suited perfectly for the acoustic version of this instrument.  We described them as "a companion unobtrusive" (borrowing from Rush) - and they are a perfect opening band in this Italian Eatery.  Background music without vocals ranging from the classics, to modern, to surf, to the 50s and everything in between.  Background - but not elevator - their music provides a perfect setting for any event, helps the mood along, but doesn't detract from the surroundings - a trait many bands strive for. Perfect music to finish dinner by.

9:15 - 10:15 Roy Silva.  Roy is known to many Fest for Beatles Fans as "Roy from under the stairs".  Roy is the rock of the under-the-stairs jam sessions at The Fest for Beatles Fans in Rosemont each year.  The glue that holds the jam together.  The guy who knows every single song ever asked of him - at least from what I've witnessed - and not just Beatles!  Simon & Garfunkel, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Monkees, Sabbath, Prince, and on and on and on.  Oh, and when he's not doing that - or this - he plays guitar, keyboards, percussion with the local all-rock-genre good-time party band JakTripper!!!  Expect to see Roy span the genre of rock and roll during this acoustic performance.  His catalog, literally, seems limitless.

10:30 - 11:30 Beatles with Bob Blider.  Bob, when not doing his amazing solo gigs currently resides with Beatles cover band, B4 And After.  Prior to that, Bob is a founding member of the famous Beatles Tribute Band, American English.  Bob's solo act consists of guitar and keyboards and covers the entire Beatles catalog from covers of Beatles covers, to early Beatles, late Beatles, Beatles rarities, and of course solo material from each and every Beatle.  Bob mixes all these different Beatles music-personalities into a cohesive mix which keeps the audience entertained all evening.

Now - on top of all that - the venue, Amici's, offers great food, a Fish Fry (for lent), several craft beers (bottled beers too), a large wine selection, and great service.

Come check it out - Friday, March 20 - Amici's, 3501 Union, in Steger, IL
