Admitting it is half the battle :
I am a runner. I finally
admit it. I run 11-12 minute miles (34-36 min 5Ks). I pass some
people, I get passed by more people. I medal in my age group sometimes,
I usually do not medal. I stay to the right and out of people's way
and when I do pass, I pass politely to the left. I enjoy pushing myself
to my personal limits and I enjoy the combined feeling of exhaustion
and accomplishment at the finish line. I do check my times, and I do get
frustrated when I am not improving. I enjoy the scenery of the races.
I enjoy the people I am around before and after the race. I enjoy the
cheerleaders along the way (volunteers and residents) and their
encouraging words and signs - and cowbells! I always strive to do my
very best on that given day. But most importantly, I have fun, and I
feel great while running and after running!!!!
