Top 10 List - Football Movies

So, it's definitely football season. And each year, I pull out all of my "football movie" DVDs - and pop them in the DVD player every now and then in the evening with windows open to just enjoy the season.

I found out, I had 12 DVDs - but at first I thought I had 10.

When I thought I had 10 - I said "Top 10 List Time" - so here goes.

Football Movies

One great thing about fall/winter - it means it's time to break out the football movies again - Invincible, All The Right Moves, Friday Night Lights, Rudy, When The Game Stands Tall, even Varsity Blues, Wildcats, and The Replacements.

What's great about these movies is the underlying themes : teamwork, loyalty, dedication, commitment to oneself, commitment to others, work ethic, determination, respect, self-respect, honor, friendship, courage, drive, sportsmanship.

"Eye Of The Tiger" Playlist

Survivor and Rocky really brought the term "Eye Of The Tiger" to the lexicon.  A term describing the desire to excel and succeed and push onward and beat the odds and so forth.

Most everybody has their playlist to workout by, or run by, or whatever their exercise or sport of choice is.  Some listen to it before participating - some during.

Comfort Music

Many of us have our favorite bands - some have our "workout playlist" - and I think many have their "driving music" - which for me is almost like "comfort music".  For some reason, I can't really explain, these songs have made it to this list.  They are just songs I want to hear when out for a drive or relaxing in the backyard or basement

Now, during the summer, going to race tracks - I always listen to Mellencamp.  Usually in the pool, I listed to Beach Boys.  And of course, most of July, leading to The Fest For Beatles Fans, I listen to Beatles.

But this is an ipod playlist - that I just like to always have handy when relaxing or going on long drives.  It's like comfort music.

I've finally been to enough Frank Lloyd Wright structures, that I can now actually begin ranking them.

These rankings are based on my personal opinion of the design.  It is not based on the tour of the property or anything at a technical architectural level.  Just my completely novice opinion.

Regardless of the ranking - I'd suggest visiting all of them if you are a Frank LLoyd Wright fan.

White Sox vs. Cubs (updated 7/10/15)

I post this here, not taking a side of the Cubs or Sox - though I am a Sox fan through-and-through.

I post this because it is very hard to find - even on the world wide web.

The last article I found that listed the Cubs vs. White Sox all-time record (post-season, exhibition, spring training, and inter-league) was from 2005 and was found at whitesoxpride.mlblogs.com. It's no longer there.

At that time, the all-time record was

White Sox - 152
Cubs - 109
ties - 6

Since then, I've been keeping track year-by-year manually, as this statistic is nearly impossible to find anymore.

So, here is the deal - so far in 2016 the records are (following 2016 4 game series):

White Sox 188
Cubs 130
ties 6

And for those that are curious, this includes the 1906 World Series which the White Sox won 4 games to 2.
