Featured Live Music Artist of the Week - THE FAB FAUX

Had the opportunity to see The Fab Faux perform The White Album in its entirety.  Now, those who are familiar with The White Album must be thinking "but what about Revolution 9?".  I'll get to that.

First, The Fab Faux is a Beatles Cover band that consists of multiple guitarists, multiple percussion players, keyboard players, a horn section and a string section - and even - yes even A HARP!  (and I don't mean harmonica, though they had that too!)

They played the entire White Album, in track/side/disc order, as the string players and horn players and percussion players would appear and disappear and reappear as needed.  Some purists might take issue with a couple portions of the show, as the band broke into guitar solos/guitar jams of their own interpretations.  Personally, I enjoyed hearing their take on classic Beatles, others might not.  They are a lively band, it's not a recital, they move around on stage and genuinely have fun.  It was definitely enjoyable watching them recreate various nuances on stage, as people would walk on stage play 4 notes on some instrument and leave.  Keep in mind, The White Album was the definition of a "studio album" - and to see them pull it off on stage, with at least 50 different instruments/FX was amazing!

REVOLUTION 9 - Yes, they did it, live on stage.  They set up an entire looping/FX center on stage to handle the technical sounds, they did play all sorts of instruments live as needed, they had unique "percussion" tools, and they recited the plays/books recited in the original - even when 3 people were reciting different excerpts.  To be honest, it sounded pretty close - actually very close - to the recording.  It was like watching a "radio show" from the old days with people walking on/off stage as needed, and so many different instruments and tools and such being used.  IMPRESSIVE.  You just know the entire audience was curious about this moment - and they did not disappoint.
