The Acoustiholics is a 2-piece (sometimes 3-piece) acoustic act (if you didn't guess by the name) from Chicagoland. The two main members - "Lenergy" and "Johnny D" are also members of the Chicagoland 80s tribute phenom "Epic". The 3rd piece being the drummer, Ken, who is also from Epic.
Though this is definitely a far different show than an Epic live experience - it still shares a couple of common traits - 1) great vocals 2) great musicianship and 3) high energy
The band is ideal for outdoor events (large and small) as well as bars,
coffee houses, and restaurants. Always professional - and always fun!!
The lead vocalist's range is amazing, going everywhere from the trademark 80s falsetto to Paul Simon and everywhere in between. Their set list is a regular Rock & Roll Encyclopedia ranging from Cecilia, to I Love A Rainy Night, to Bad Moon Rising, to Working For The Weekend, to Red Solo Cup, to The Wanderer, to Limelight, to Sweet Child of Mine - and everything in between (seriously, practically everything) - plus a few fun surprises I will not give away here!
The set list is designed so well that this mix of genres flows perfectly from one song to the next, each seeming it always belonged coupled with the prior song. All of this done - acoustically! Delivered via a combination of acoustic 6-string, acoustic 12-string, and acoustic bass. And of course, a giant vocal range!
The band is completely interactive with the audience the entire time, including dialogue, and requests. And the band is HAVING FUN - and the fun is contagious.
The Acoustiholics deliver a "sit-down" version of all the greatest rock songs, with a mix of the right amount of energy and mellowness - making them the perfect acoustic duo for a relaxing - yet fun and interactive - evening of music. And feel free to sing along - the music is definitely contagious!
They happen to be playing as I write this, and also tomorrow night and Saturday night. Check out their facebook page for show schedules and official webpage.
