Musical Deep Thoughts (or Why I Support Local Live Music)

Musical deep thoughts. Just finished watching a documentary - and I realize how fortunate I've been.

I've seen Brian Wilson live, twice, once doing Pet Sounds and once Imagination. I've see The Who perform Quadrophenia live, form the 7th row - Townshend, Daltrey, Entwhistle and Zak Starkey (Ringo's kid). I've seen Paul McCartney, twice, once from the field at Wrigley Field. I've seen the Beach Boys with almost the entire band (Love, Carl Wilson, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston). I've seen Ringo many times, including times with Todd Rundgren and Billy Preston (and Zak Starkey). I've seen Ozzy countless times and once with Black Sabbath (minus Bill Ward). I've seen Dio live. I've seen concerts at The Vic, The Riv, The Aragon Ballroom (Brawlroom), and the Chicago Theater! I've seen shows at Northerly Island (the midwest's best outdoor arena). I've seen Ann and Nancy Wilson, twice, once with an acoustic set (5th row). I've seen Kiss with and without makeup and with and without the original lineup. I've seen The Ides of March and music songwriting hero, Jim Peterik, live on quite a few occasions - and last year in the most awesome rain-soaked impromptu live unplugged up-close set at Steger Days of Music.

I'm not bragging - I am just realizing how very fortunate I have been. Fortunate to be exposed to such a genre of music and fortunate to be able to see these things.

And for that, I will always support local music and live music. It's a great thing - music is!

A huge huge thank you to all musicians putting there music out there for us to experience! You all rock!!!
