Continuing with Part 3 from Rock The Grid Festival at Sebring International Speedway (http://www.rtgfestival.com/), today's featured Live Artist is Baby Bash.
Bash has been tearing it up on the rap scene since the mid-90s (some may remember him as Baby Beesh) and can draw from quite a collection. Baby Bash was a late add to the event, and his set was limited in time. I believe he performed 5 songs while on stage.
But, it wasn't about quantity it was about quality. Bash was the 3rd artist to go on stage and was performing just as night fell, which seems to just add to the party! And Baby Bash's song selection was right in tune with the nighttime party atmosphere that had started in the audience. Much like a good DJ, Bash kept the party in an up-tempo mode for his entire set. Spending much time, during and before songs to rap with the audience. Bash engaged in many audience participation call-and-response moments as well as just the general shout out to the crowds, which resulted in shout-backs.
There was no question that he was out there having fun - and everybody else was going to have fun with him. About half way through his set, his family and children took to the stage - followed closely by record producer Jim Jonsin and his family and children. Others from the VIP Backstage party joined him on stage as well.
For the final 2 songs of his set - the stage essentially became a giant dance club with Bash leading the way. And the lawn became an extension of that dance party. The entire set was like those 30 second promos shown on MTV of outdoor dance parties - but it was closer to 30 minutes!
