Featured Live Music Artist of the Week - DJ DAVE Z

Yep - a DJ is still live music.  A jukebox is not, a radio is not, a CD player is not, but a DJ is....

A DJ doesn't just play records (or mp3s) for a crowd.  Nope.

First, a DJ has a vast array of music from nearly everything anybody could ask for, from easy listening Kenny Rogers, to country Dierks Bentley, to metal Metallica, to pop Prince, to dance Kool & The Gang, to middle of the road Journey, to classic Led Zeppelin - and everything in between, and not in between those choices.

Second, a DJ senses the atmosphere of the room, the mood of the patrons, and the energy level in the air - and then chooses the perfect next song - and the next and the next.

Some DJs also incorporate Karaoke into the show, and here is another area that DJ provides a live music service - the DJ is the encouraging one, the one to help ease any doubts the next Karaoke victim, I mean singer, might have, the DJ is the one also helps pick the songs based on what that person indicates.

The DJ isn't just someone spinning records from a collection.

And DJ Dave Z of Dave's Entertainment & Karaoke is all of the above, at the best level.  And that's why Dave is the Featured Live Music Artist of the Week.

I've seen Dave DJ in different bars to different crowds, at an outdoor music festival, and at a 5k - yes - a 5k.

Dave's best feature is his personality.  Above all, professional and prompt.  He is always there ahead of time and always professional with everybody.  But, actually, even more important than that - Dave is a "people person".  He immediately, effortlessly, interacts with the crowd, even before the first song is played.  He is able to read the room and the situation and choose the exact song to start with, and the exact song to continue with.

Playing in a noisy bar is very different than trying to entertain runners preparing for a race (or finishing a race) and that is very different than playing for people who just finished watching a specific live act.  Each requires different types of music, different energy levels, and requires one to really read the crowd and the situation.  Which is what Dave is excellent at.  It seems that the next song, is always the right song.  And this is evident by the reaction of the patrons as they smile or cheer or sing along or dance along.  I even saw people dancing along after the 5k completed.

On his Karaoke nights, there is something about Dave's personality that puts the victims, I mean singers, at ease as they get up before the crowd of staring eyes.  I'm not sure what it is - but he seems to get EVERYBODY on the mic at least once before the night is over - even the most reluctant ones.

You can see/hear DJ Dave throughout the Chicago Southland at bars, music events, American Legion/VFW halls, and pretty much all over.

DJ Dave Z does exactly what a DJ is paid to do - he keeps the crowd in a good mood and keeps the energy level high.

By the way, his music collection is quite extensive as well!!!
